Getting Started with your Hugo® Rolling Walker
TIPS FOR FIRST TIME USERS
- Lock the brake
- Stand, get your balance and step up to the Hugo® rolling walker
- Unlock the brake
- Push the Hugo® rolling walker slowly forward so that the rear wheels are a few inches ahead of your body
- Step forward and place one foot in line with the rear wheels
- Maintaining a steady and slow roll forward, place your other foot in line with the rear wheels
- Determine a pace that is comfortable and allows you to place each step in line with the rear wheels
- When you decide to stop, lock the brake for stability
BEFORE SITTING ON THE HUGO® ROLLING WALKER
- Lock the brake before sitting. This helps stabilize the Hugo® rolling walker as you sit down, and can aid in case balance is momentarily lost
DETERMINE THE CORRECT HEIGHT OF YOUR HUGO®
- Stand behind the Hugo® rolling walker with your arms and hands hanging at your sides and both feet in line with the rear wheels
- Adjust the height of the walker handles (see assembly instructions) so that they are even with your hip joint
- When you stand straight and grip the handles, your arms should be slightly bent at your elbows (approximately 20 to 30 degrees)
